Our History

Sunny Hollow Montessori was founded in 1981 by Mary Sue Dobbin. The school is established as a non-profit organization and is directed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

The school achieved AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) accreditation in 2005. Originally founded as Montessori Preschool, Sunny Hollow has embarked on an expansion to offer Elementary Montessori classrooms as well. The first elementary class of grades 1-3 started in the fall of 2006. The elementary program is expanding each year to include grades 1-6.

Sunny Hollow Montessori engages each child in his or her education and nurtures the child’s unique character, cultivating independence, inspiring community relations and promoting respect for self, other and the environment.
